Paola M. Morales Carvajal, a biomedical engineer from Puerto Rico, transformed personal loss into a mission to end the global epidemic of heart disease. Her journey—from research at NASA, MIT, NIH, KAUST, and the U.S. Congress—revealed that true cardiovascular prevention required more than surgery or costly medications. It demanded a new vision: to create a future where families no longer face the devastating impact of heart disease.
